Setting and Description 102

Go somewhere public and bring a notepad (or notebook or whatever you prefer) and pen. Find a place to sit, and then write a paragraph describing the area. Then, if possible, listen in on a conversation nearby. Now, record the conversation as accurately as possible. Do not omit a single filler word, phrase, or colloquialism or grammar error if you can avoid it. Do this for a page or two, and then you're done for now. You'll probably notice right off the bat that in real life, conversation isn't nearly like you'd expect in fictional dialogue... But we'll get into why later.
